Downtown Rotary Welcomes John Hennessey of Hennessey Performance, Creator of the 301mph Hennessey Venom F5

We will also be honored to hear from Brian Troy, Executive Relations Manager of the Prison Entrepreneurship Program of Houston, one of our chosen original committees by our Downtown Rotary Founders.

John Hennessey

John Hennessey is Founder & CEO of Hennessey Special Vehicles, Hennessey Performance (HPE), Tuner School & Lonestar Motorsports Park.

John was born with a passion for speed and fast, fun cars. John’s early racing successes, driving a modified Mitsubishi 3000GT at venues such as the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, the Silver State Classic and the Bonneville Salt Flats (where he set a world record in his class), stoked the competitive fires and convinced him that this passion for racing could be turned into a successful business venture.

Today, Hennessey is one of the largest independent automotive tuners in the world and has built more than 10,000 specialty vehicles including mid-engine super cars, six-wheeled super trucks, modern muscle cars with 1,000+ hp and everything in between right here in Texas.

Hennessey sells vehicles around the world, including the U.S., Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle-East. His vision to be the top automotive tuner and builder in the U.S. has become a reality for Hennessey and he is viewed as an American icon of speed and the open road. His clients are a veritable who’s who and include Jay Leno, Steven Tyler, Tony Hawk, Tim Duncan as well as many Texas legends and men and women around the world.

Last year John unveiled THE EXORCIST, the fastest Muscle Car in the world by attaining a top speed of 217 mph at the Continental Tire Proving Grounds in Uvalde, Texas. Hennessey and Pennzoil also unveiled the Venom F5’s engine which produces 1600+ horsepower from a 7.6L twin turbo Hennessey V8 engine. The unveiling took place at The Quail – A Motorsports Gathering.

John has the record for the fastest production cars in the world.

John lives in Houston, Texas, with his wife Hope and their five children.

 

Brian Troy

Brian Troy is the Prison Entrepreneurship Program Executive Relations Manager in Houston. He is responsible for coordinating monthly events at the Cleveland Prison Unit and recruiting prospective volunteers and supporters through meetings and public speaking engagements. Brian is also an Entrepreneurship Instructor at the Cleveland Unit. Furthermore, Brian has worked as a Transitional Coordinator for PEP and is a Class XIX graduate of the program.

Brian has extensive sales experience in the financial services and logistics industry and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography with a Speech Communications minor from Texas Tech University. Brian also held positions in construction and retail management and served in the U.S. Army Reserve.
