Downtown Rotary Celebrates NASA's 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing, with NASA Director Mark Geyer and Special Guest Astronauts

In recognition of NASA’s 50th anniversary of the moon landing, the Downtown Rotary Club of Houston will host Johnson Space Center (JSC) Director Mark S. Geyer, astronaut Randolph “Komrade” Bresnik, and Apollo Astronaut, and fellow Downtown Rotary Club of Houston member, Walter Cunningham will also be honored.

We will also be joined by a special guest who was in mission control 50 years ago during the moon landing.

Geyer is the 12th director of NASA’s JSC, a position he assumed in May 2018. Geyer leads a workforce of approximately 10,000 civil servant and contractor employees at one of NASA’s largest installations in Houston and the White Sands Test Facility in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Bresnik was selected as an astronaut in 2004 and recently served as the Commander of the International Space Station for Expedition 53 and flight engineer for Expedition 52. He has logged more than 6,000 hours in 83 types of aircraft.

Members admission and lunch included in annual dues. Non-members of Downtown Rotary and guests must pay a $50.00 fee with RSVP. PayPal and all credit cards accepted.
