Entertainment and Social Committee
The Rotary Club of Houston Entertainment & Social Committee is responsible for planning and coordinating social activities that promote friendship, fellowship and fun. These gatherings and events for members and guests of the Rotary Club of Houston include concerts, theater, and novelty acts for the benefit of the Rotary Club of Houston.
The Entertainment and Social Committee also plans, recruits volunteers as needed and promotes fundraisers such as Kentucky Derby Race Day, Casino Night, Wine Tasting parties, Holiday Family affairs, Fine Arts, Super Bowl watching and other popular Group Sporting events to be safely enjoyed by all. The Entertainment and Social Committee also must liaise with the Rotary Club of Houston Treasurer to plan in advance to budget the costs of events, liability if any, ordering of invitations, food, refreshments, prize drawings, professional entertainment and research what is viable in a large club popular to an inclusive high percentage of the membership. The Entertainment and Social Committee was established in 2012 as a result of the Rotary Club of Houston desire to socially network with our members outside the regularly scheduled Rotary Club of Houston luncheon meetings
