His areas of research and teaching specialization include Public Opinion and Voting Behavior, Applied Survey Research, Campaigns and Elections, Political Parties and American Government. His most recent book is “Unconventional Wisdom” (Oxford University Press), which examines across time survey data to inform the popular conversation about voting and elections in the United States. In 2006, he published “The Race to 270” (University of Chicago Press) which analyzes the effects of TV advertising and candidate visits on the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections.
