Committees
Fresh Start / PEP Committee
The Fresh Start Program’s purpose is to stimulate positive life transformation for inmates and volunteers by uniting them around shared passions for entrepreneurship, education and mentoring.
The Committee’s goal is to engage Rotary Club of Houston volunteers in helping inmates served by the Prison Entrepreneurship Program to develop solid business plans for businesses they will start after release, as well as the life skills they will need for success.
• In-prison volunteer opportunities about 1/2 day per month.
• Business plan advising can also be done via email.
• Post-release volunteer opportunities arise at least once per week, and include teaching and mentoring.
• PEP’s program has been internationally recognized for delivering best-in-class results, including 100% employment and only 7% recidivism of its graduates.
